What are the opportunities and support for families through NAZ?
Local schools, mentoring programs, family support organizations, health services, and even holistic areas like art and worship, are all beginning to coordinate with each other and families around a shared achievement plan. Where one program ends, another is there to pick up the process of supporting Northside kids from before birth to college.
Through NAZ, you and your family can access:
- Early childhood support and knowledge to help your child start kindergarten ready to learn.
- Mentoring programs to give your child the added benefit of another trusting adult in their life.
- Out-of-school educational support to give your child more time to learn.
- Housing stability to make sure your family doesn’t have to be uprooted from your neighborhood or school.
- Family support for social and emotional concerns.
- Career, finance & adult education support for adults seeking to improve their educational and career path.
- Connection to other families just like you working on achievement plans for their whole family.
- And more!
If you choose to enroll in NAZ, you will be invited to create an achievement plan using a web-tool that also shows you where these opportunities and resources can be directly accessed. You will have the added support from trained leaders who either live in your community or have themselves experienced much of what faces kids and families living on the Northside. These leaders will help you create your plan and then stick with it.
Even before your child is born, you can put your child on a pathway to college!
