Tamiko Thomas joined NAZ in 2019 and oversees the mobilization of Academic resources and partners within the NAZ educational portfolio of providers. She works to implement collective action principals to achieve racial equity in academic settings so youth can realize their hopes and achieve their dreams. She leads system and policy change in the educational arena and works towards creating a college-bound culture for under-represented black and brown children throughout North Minneapolis. She most recently worked as an Assistant High School Principal and holds licensure as a K-12 principal, and is a licensed social worker. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Minnesota, a Masters of Education (M.A) and an Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S) from the University of St. Thomas. Ms. Thomas plans to enroll in a Doctoral program starting in the Fall of 2019.
