While summer is in full swing, we’re not over the excitement of our graduations these last few months.
In June, we celebrated NAZ Family Academy graduates! Attendees watched as 139 NAZ parents crossed the stage in recognition of completing one or more Family Academy classes. NAZ Family Academy is a series of parent and scholar education classes designed to empower families. The classes are focused on providing caregivers with the skills and tools to strengthen the stability of their family and support the academic success of their child at every stage of development. In addition, 57 middle-school-aged scholars completed our Youth Foundations course, which was new last year and is exclusively for young kids.
The graduation ceremony theme was BLOOM, highlighting the growth of each graduate. With each person who walked across the stage, the message of achievement and excellence rang loud and clear in the hearts of those in attendance. Together, we celebrated the belief that our Northside scholars will succeed in life and realize their greatest potential with their families’ support.
Then, earlier this month in July, the good vibes and excitement were off the charts at our Pathway to College celebration! Families, community members, and NAZ partners showed up in force to show their pride and commitment to these incredible young people. To mark the accomplishment and set them up for success in future studies, each graduate received their own Apple iPad after crossing the stage. In between activities and food, organizations were on hand to share resources and opportunities for life after high school.
